Warcraft 3 question.?

it seems that whenever I try to play a game with npc or comps as allies that after the first skirmish with the enemy my allies become,.....unresponsive, not moving much, not building bases, NOT ATTACKING. Im wonder, i look and i dont see more then one or two of there "worker" units, is it because they are out of resources and are to stupid to do anything? Or is it a glitch, Because I get a little bit mad when I have a fulll team then five mins later I'm left facing 4 armies by myself, REAAAALLY frustrating.
