Were wooden ramrods used during the american civil war?

I am going to be a civil war reenactor, and my uncle gave me his musket and it has a wooden ramrod. And i wanted to know if they were used during the civil war. That way i know if i have an accurate musket, if not could u tell me what year it is from?
