Extending my wireless network, will this work?

Your best choice would be the Omni antennas as they have a variety of them depending on the range you need. So what you can do is measure the space of your house by squared inch, then add 10 and what ever that number is Omni should have it. As for that adapter i wouldn't go with that cause it takes power and is less effective.
